JINNOVATE Innovation Center conducted Professional Training in Innovation for Clalit Healthcare Services Medical Teams in East Jerusalem Clinics

The goal of the training is to provide tools and knowledge in medical innovation to promote ideas for developing technological solutions from the needs that arise in medical practice, thereby improving the quality of healthcare for patients

JINNOVATE (Jerusalem Innovation), an innovation center specializing in advancing entrepreneurship and developing technologies in the HealthTech field and operating in East Jerusalem, will hold a training program and professional workshops on medical innovation for the medical teams at Clalit Healthcare Services’ clinics which operates in East Jerusalem.

As part of the training, physicians and other medical teams will have professional training led by various experts in the fields of medical entrepreneurship, covering a wide range of issues related to establishing a technological startup—ranging from the idea incubation stages to product development, business plan formulation, regulatory issues, patent registration (IP) in the medical field,  and Go-to-Market strategies. In addition to lectures and professional training sessions, participants will also engage in professional tours and meetings at innovation centers in hospitals in Jerusalem, such as Shaare Zedek Medical Center, which is a partner in Jinnovate, as well as other medical centers and organizations involved in medical entrepreneurship.

Dr. Amani Zuaiter, Head of Innovation Manager of the Jerusalem District at Clalit Healthcare Services, said: “We are pleased to collaborate with the Jinnovate team to launch a first-of-its-kind program for medical teams in East Jerusalem. Doctors are those who are best positioned to understand the needs arising from daily medical practice, but they lack the knowledge and tools to turn an idea into a medical startup. Our goal is to provide our teams in East Jerusalem with the knowledge foundation that will enable them to turn an idea into a medical venture, ultimately improving and streamlining the quality of our healthcare.”

Mahmoud Kweis, Founder and CEO of Jinnovate, said: “We are excited to partner with the Jerusalem District of Clalit Healthare Services to advance  innovation among clinic physicians in East Jerusalem. In a comprehensive study we recently conducted examining the state of innovation in healthcare centers in East Jerusalem, a clear gap was identified between East and West Jerusalem, and the need to advance entrepreneurship and innovation in order to bridge the existing gap. The essence of Jinnovate is exactly for this purpose—to provide the infrastructure to promote startup companies alongside offering tools and knowledge to healthcare organizations in East Jerusalem to implement technological solutions and advance healthcare systems, bringing about change and providing the best possible medical care to the residents of East Jerusalem.”
